With the implementation of these state and federal (and in some cases private) health exchanges approaching so quickly, I have been motivated to do more research on what all this really means to the agents out there. This morning I came across an article that helped support our theory that knowledgable agents will continue to play a vital role in the transactions of health plan purchases.
In summary, a focus group was assembled to simulate the process and observe the consumer experience in navigating an online exchange. In part, many were “not comfortable” in choosing a plan by themselves, and desired “human support”.
Now, that human support desired was split amongst medical providers, call center support staff, and insurance agents/brokers. A good reason to continue establishing yourself as a reliable source of health reform information and guidance.
